PROCESSION DOWN THE HILL (Sat 2.30), then a grand spectacular performance on stage of :
AFRICAN DANCE - by pupils of the St James Catholic High School, Colindale.
DRUMMING - by children from the Trent C.of E. Primary School, Cockfosters.
TRADITIONAL SOUTH ASIAN DANCING - B. Tech. students from Barnet College, trained by professional Bharata Natyam
dancer Stella Subbiah. This is as performed for HM the Queen at the Copthall Stadium, Golden Jubilee Celebration (June 2002).
FLAGS & TEXTILES - designed and displayed by children from St Mary's C.of E. School, Finchley - a London Borough of
Barnet schools project in which other participating schools are; Holly Park, N11; Monken Hadley, Barnet; Wessex Garden
Primary, NW11; Foulds School, Barnet.

THEATRETRAIN BARNET (Sat 3.20) directed by Suzanne Van Niekerk. Theatretrain has been established at Queen
Elizabeth's Girls School for ten years and has the support of theatre world luminaries, Sir Derek Jacobi, Alfred Molina, Kate
Williams, and France de la Tour. The company offers Saturday morning classes in drama, dance, and singing for ages 6 to 18,
with a summer show at Drury Lane Theatre in July and has introduced an agency book for students.

TRADITIONAL EGYPTIAN DANCING - Deborah Rosenberg. (Sat 3.50 & 5.10)

CRADLE; Jilna, Leanne, Sophie, and Charlotte, four young actresses, dancers and singers, from New Southgate performing
"BLOOD BROTHERS" - a fun dance (Sat 4.05), "ERNIE'S INCREDIBLE ILLUSINATIONS" - a short play (Sat 4.45) &
"Neither Here Nor There" - a prose piece by Bill Bryson (Sat 5.00).

IVO - (Sat 4.15) Millennium Young Troupers perform the traditional Runyege dance from the Western part of Uganda
with drums and rattles, followed by their own creative Pops Stars dances, They meet at Watling Community Centre
in Burnt Oak, organised by Innovative Vision Organisation.

FEMINENZA - (Sat 3.00 & 5.40) "A slow motion dance meditation performance by an organisation dedicated to the
encouragement of every woman's future". Arranged by the Temple Foundation, which runs a variety of arts and healing
workshops in Islington, for all ages.

CEROC - (Sat 2.30 & 3.30) modern dance form using music from the '40s onwards. Everyone can join in. No partner needed.
Based at All Saints Arts Centre, Whetstone.

SUSI EARNSHAW THEATRE SCHOOL -(Sat 4.00 & Sun 3.50), now based at East Barnet Methodist Church, incorporates a
full-time Theatre School with its many part-time evening and weekend workshops. There are classes for 5 to 21 year olds, and
the School also has a theatrical agency. Senior pupils perform on Sunday at 3.30.

MERRYDOWNERS - MORRIS DANCERS from St Albans (Sat 3.00 & 5.00).

TAI CHI DEMONSTRATION - (Sat 4.00) arranged by Age Concern who has a new class on Mondays at Chipping Barnet
Library.

CARNIVAL PROCESSION down the hill (Sun 2.30), combining AFRICAN DANCE, DRAMA AND MUSIC, performed by
ninety Year-6 pupils from QUEENSWELL SCHOOL, Whetstone, with professional musicians and other artists from the
ALLEGRESSE company. ALLEGRESSE was formed in 1993 by director/writer/performer Sara Mason, who trained at RADA
and Ecole Jacques Lecoq, to explore the diversity of cultures, from which has come a string of successful productions.
ALLEGRESSE artists include: London-based musician/writer/performer Freddy Macha, from Brazil; writer/poet/journalist Efosa Ebowe, from Nigeria; musician and leader of Afro-Fusion band "Dunni", David Oladunni from Nigeria; dance soloist/teacher
Gaspar Diebi, from the Ivory Coast; master drummer/teacher Henri Gaobi, from Cote D'Ivoire, who has worked with many
productions and bands.

LESLEY HAND SCHOOL OF DANCING - (Sun 2.30) are based at East Barnet Baptist Church and Subud Hall in East Barnet
Road, with lessons in ballet, tap, modern jazz and drama.

OYA! AFRICAN CHOIR - (Sun 4.20) 11 to 16 year olds singing choral music from all over Africa. OYA! is an African
educational organisation based in Grahame Park, on the western side of the London Borough of Barnet and the choir is one of
their youth projects.

NORTH LONDON PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE - (Sun 4.30) based at Muswell Hill with some 1500 students aged from 4
to the late teens. Workshops are held throughout the summer.

Bosco de Oliviera's AFRORHYTHMIC "RHYTHMS OF THE CITY" (Sun 5.20) The 30-strong Samba Bateria featuring local
(Whetstone) Brazilian star Bosco De Oliveira, who started the famous London School of Samba. This is a chance to savour the
real African/Latin American/Caribbean rhythms, driven by lashings of song and dance, all in the tropical heat of Oak Hill Park,
East Barnet. Event arranged with the assistance of London Borough of Barnet. The Samba Bateria is a semi-pro Afrorhythmic
street band based at London's City University and the Royal Academy of Music.

GREEK CYPRIOT DANCING - (Sun 2.45) pupils from the MANORHILL GREEK SCHOOL, Friern Barnet.

TALLY HO SCOTTISH DANCERS - (Sun 3.00 & 4.00) meet weekly at Christ Church, High Road, N12, at 8.00 pm on
Thursdays, with a beginners class at Church House, Wood Street, Barnet at 8.00 pm. on Wednesdays

TEXAN DUDES AMERICAN LINE DANCING - (Sun 3.30 & 4.30) everyone's invited to come along and join in the
footstompin' fun for all ages. Lavinia and Mick cater for beginners to intermediates, with day and evening classes.
